More Shoes To Drop?

Rumors have been swirling that more congressmen will be revealed as sexual predators in the coming days. Kevin Drum has a tantalizing (and unsubstantiated) update.

Comments:
I did like the comment suggesting that if the Repubs can't manage a program with 60 some pages what are they doing in Iraq. or governing the US for that matter.

They don't know how to govern or manage. All they know is how to win elections.

For them, as an integral part of the never-ending quest to ease Steve Forbes' tax bill, it's enough.

According to a Hill Republican source, another Foley-esque incident will soon erupt in the House. It's a matter of time...

cartledge, that is the best argument I have heard in a while on why they ought to be tossed from office. Of course the current meme here is that the Foley scandal was a "Democratic political operation," because as you know, Dems often hold back info they have about child predators and unleash it at the most politically expedient time for maximum effect.

anon, I've heard that too. if that happens and they're repubs, the GOP is done for a long time as the party of family values. if a Dem is involved, it gives the GOP some cover. We'll have to wait and see how it turns out.

RBE, I noticed that. But the deflection doesn't take away from the central issue.
Foley is clearly in the wrong and his own leaders knew it.
They can obfuscate but it is america's great loss if the people fally for the pea and thimble trick again.

I dunno, cartledge, they're pretty good at turning the story back on the teller. Rathergate is the most obvious example. The NSA story was another (who leaked it became the story rather than the preznit is illegally wiretapping.) And of course we have a compliant media willing to spew Rove's lies even though they know they're lies.

BTW, as I'm typing this, I just heard the blonde anchorwhore on MSNBC say "Could the Foley scandal backfire on Democrats on election day?" I guess it's time for another segment of "Wingnut Limbaughian Fantasy Hour." Ugggh.
