Deadly Days Continue

From the Associated Press:

BAGHDAD - Fourteen American soldiers were killed in three deadly days in Iraq, the U.S. military said Sunday, including four in a single roadside bombing and one who was struck by a suicide bomber while on a foot patrol southwest of the capital.

Icasualties.org
lists the toll for the month of June at 16 - 5.33 soldiers a day.

3,494 soldiers have been killed since the start of the war, but casualties have increased dramatically since the start of Preznut Bush's surge strategy in February.

In the period before the surge, the death toll averaged 2.39 a day.

Currently the toll averages 3.53 a day.

This is not progress.
