No Kidding

From the Associated Press:

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush's senior advisers on Iraq have recommended he stand by his current war strategy, and he is unlikely to order more than a symbolic cut in troops before the end of the year, administration officials told The Associated Press Tuesday.

Bush isn't pulling out of Iraq.

Dems don't have the votes in the Senate to override a veto.

Repubs in the Senate won't break from the preznut in sufficient numbers to help Dems override a veto.

Even the Repubs who are talking against the war - like Collins, like Coleman, like Warner, like Spector, like Snowe - do not have the guts to break with their preznut.

The war will continue until at least January 20, 2009.

And probably much longer than that.

I dunno why the talking heads in the media refuse to acknowledge the obvious.

They keep making believe like the "Petraeus Report" is actually some decision that's up in the air.

It's not.

The decision was set even before the surge policy started.

The fix is in.

Bush is in for the long haul and he doesn't care if 75% of the country oppose him.

As long as he's got 40 senators to back him in the Senate, there's not a damn thing anybody can do about it.
