Utah Thumbs Nose at the Preznit over No Child Left Behind I

Utah Governor Jon Huntsman signed legislation today giving state education policy and standards priorty over the federal mandates and requirements of No Child Left Behind.

AP

Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings had warned that Utah could lose $76 million dollars in federal funding if the governor signed the bill passed on April 19th by the legislature. Spellings' office did not return calls from the Associated Press seeking comment on the new education law in Utah.

Perhaps she's too busy watching for lesbians on PBS to return calls?
