Video Link To More New Abu Ghraib Photos
Here's a link to Reuters with some video of the new Abu Ghraib photos. The video is pretty horrific, which is why CNN, MSNBC, FOX, ABC, NBC, and CBS won't show it. So far, I have heard newscasters on both CNN and MSNBC talk in general terms about what is shown in the photos, but neither network has had the guts to show them.
So contact all of the networks and scream at them to show these photos. Americans need to see the extent of what happened at Abu Ghraib (including the six corpses - in the previously released photos and documents from Abu Ghraib, the U.S. military claimed there had only been one fatality). Americans need to see the man with the cigartette burns on his bleeding ass or the prisoner with fecal matter smeared on his face or the disturbed prisoner who bangs his head against the prison wall repeatedly until he's a bloody mess.
These photos need to be seen. And the Bush administration needs to stop fighting the ACLU on the Freedom of Information Act requests and get all of the relevant material from the prison abuse scandals out there. Be upfront, because it seems like most of it will come out eventually.
And finally, we need an independent investigation into the prison abuse scandals at Abu Ghraib, Camp Bagram in Afghanistan, Guatanamo Bay, Cuba and the secret black prison sites in Eastern Europe. Enough is enough - it is time for the country to come claim of these horrors and wash our hands of torture and prison abuse.
