Over/Under On When Hastert Resigns
Atrios has the over/under line on when Hastert resigns: Before Friday at 5 PM or after Friday at 5 PM.
I'll take before Friday at 5 PM.
With the way the Republican leadership are turning on themselves, I just don't see how they don't try and use Denny as a scapegoat for the whole thing.
UPDATE: U.S. News and World Report says Republican officials tell them that Hastert has just one or two days to turn this affair around before he is forced to step down.

As far as Hastert's "I don't remember being told" about Foley's bizarre electronic flirtations with boys, I remember a conversation I had with our scoutmaster concerning one of the youth volunteers that was working with the Cub Scouts at the time. Neither of us suspected him of any overt action, but he was a bit "off", and seemed to prefer playing with the kids like a slightly older brother, rather than acting his age (21 or so). We took care of the situation, making sure he had no unsupervised contact with the kids, and assigning him the scut work that had taken up so much of our time. When he understood it wasn't going to be fun for him any more, he moved on, with no damage done.
That was thirty years ago. If Dennis Hastert can't remember a similar conversation from February or so, he needs to retire, now.
