Man, the missing email story just keeps getting bigger and bigger:

In a startling new revelation, CREW has also learned through two confidential sources that the Executive Office of the President (EOP) has lost over five million emails generated between March 2003 and October 2005. The White House counsel’s office was advised of these problems in 2005 and CREW has been told that the White House was given a plan of action to recover these emails, but to date nothing has been done to rectify this significant loss of records.

These are not the same missing emails from the Republican National Committee servers that the White House said yesterday they had "mishandled" and 'lost."

These are additional emails that were supposed to be preserved by the White House but have just magically disappeared.

Oops.

As Pat Leahy noted yesterday, it's strange how all these emails have just disappeared now that there some real oversight in the Congress.

POSTSCRIPT: TPMmuckraker reports that the RNC has no Karl Rove emails prior to 2005 and the RNC counsel says it's because Rove himself may have deleted the emails.

Also, Think Progress reports that a major document dump in the Prosecutor Purge scandal is expected tonight.

Unfortunately most of these scandal stories have been overshadowed by the fall-out from the Imus firings by NBC and CBS.
